Heather Wood, PhD

Dr. Heather Wood is Lecturer I at University of Texas at Dallas where she teaches First-Year Writing to a diverse student body. In the classroom, Dr. Wood uses active learning principles to engage students, sharing with them her passion for the written word. Heather is a Canvas Certified Educator with expertise in online, hybrid, and traditional modalities. Her recent poem, "duck" was published in The Writer's Garret anthology, Poetry in Place. In her spare time, Heather enjoys yoga, travel, and the arts.
